A Manager’s Take on Why ‘The Shortform’ Could Be the Next Big Thing

First, it has the potential to be addictive.

Second, many writers have to write an essay even if they feel like expressing a single thought, only to meet the needs of the publications.

Third, everyone feels lazy at times, not wanting to read or write lengthy pieces.

Fourth, it can help writers improve by saying more with less.

Fifth, the world is losing patience.

Sixth, it’s easier to be prolific. People write 150 words in less than 10 mins.

Seventh, the read-to-view ratio is expected to be higher.

Eighth, it’s easy to experiment (the way I am doing right now).

Ninth, it’s not as easy as it looks. Challenging to write, as I am figuring out.

Tenth, the torture ends sooner in case you got stuck writing a wrong piece.
